Toronto Zoo
Associated Buzz Creative participated in the development of the Toronto Zoo's new Tundra Trek, the first phase of a multi-phased interpretive design project in the redevelopment of the exhibits of the zoo's North Site. The project encompassed redevelopment of the existing polar bear exhibit—a new home for orphaned polar bear twins Aurora and Nikita—and the addition of other sub-Arctic exhibits to the site. The area becomes the sixth region of the zoo, and showcases a variety of Arctic animals including reindeer, snowy owls, Arctic foxes, and Arctic wolves. The exhibit has been built around the theme “tundra and the environment” and highlights the impact the tundra has on the lives of Canadians. The new state-of-the-art exhibits for all animals provide extra space for potential breeding, with the new polar bear exhibit expanding to three times its former size. Associated Buzz Creative provided sound design services for interactive visitor exhibits.
